BizKit
Impact: Environmental, Social
Bizkit is a project to educate elementary school students on business, ethics and sustainability initiatives to increase their knowledge and interest in these subjects. This project has developed into a 3 year lesson plan to increase the breadth of their knowledge by expanding and building upon each plan's material from the previous year. We will be educating grades five, six and seven at four different elementary schools in Vancouver.
Spend It Right
Impact: Environmental, Economical
Because of the wide range of products and brands out in the world today, it is imperative to introduce to teenagers the ethical impacts of different brands and their implied image, as well as recognizing the importance of social entrepreneurship. To do this, the SIFE team is excited to introduce this brand new project to engage teenagers in High Schools in Ethical Buying Workshops aimed at assisting these teenagers in making informed ethical decisions when purchasing products and guide them in considering social entrepreneurship as a career.
Let's Can Hunger

Non-profit Consulting
Impact: Social, Financial, Environmental
SIFE UBC is thrilled to present this brand new project to raise profile for the Western Society for Children (WSFC). The Western Society for Children is a Charity that assists parents in advocating for disability resources needed by their children. The WSFC also offers direct services to children in the areas of: adaptive/specialized equipment, medical resources, recreation, communication and learning, and emotional well-being. Through this project, our team will not only cooperate with the WSFC in building a brand image for the non-profit organization, but will also be challenging the norms within society regarding children with disabilities by fundraising to gain public and corporate attention in hopes of donating specialty bikes to families supported by the WSFC.
National Competition
SIFE UBC will be sending our talented team to a nationwide competition in which SIFE teams all over Canada will be participants. Our project managers are very excited to be part of a national and even global network and will be looking to put their best foot forward as our team competes against Canada's most entrepreneurial minds.
The competition will take place in Calgary shortly after second semester ends, and will be the climax of SIFE UBC's year, as all of our hard work and accomplishments will be presented and recognized by our sister chapters. Funding from various organizations and representatives from established firms will be present to witness the results of a great mental collective and an interest in helping the community.
